Entries from Eden

Singular Beauty

What have they done to you oh land, oh Earth?
They have churned your surface
to feed their wrongs

In a leafy furrow
between the silent, ruinous moors
I witness a glimpse
of the majesty that was yours

To weave endlessly is surely the Creator’s delight
For the living picture before my eyes
speaks of purpose
in his collage

A Sightless Communion

To sit atop
a fallen bole
is my joy upon this day

With silent eyes
and open ears
the birds make their display

These splendid harmonies
a euphonious din
shoo my troubled thoughts away

The hum of a fly
is a pleasing sound
without brew of man’s decay
